VNA HealthCare seeks compassionate, friendly
volunteers to deliver nutritious meals to elderly and disabled individuals
in the Windsor area. As a volunteer with our Catered with Care program,
you’ll deliver much more than wholesome meals. You’ll also provide vital
socialization to those who often have little human interaction. You can
volunteer once a month, twice a month, every week or every day – we’ll
create a flexible schedule that works for you. For more information, please
contact Carol Scully at (860)493-7161.
We are looking for donations of hospitality supplies: coffee, napkins,
hot drink cups (no styrofoam please), hot chocolate packets, plastic utensils, &
cold drink cups. Contact Laurel Sayles with questions.
Thanks for Our Library! Our PCC library been
growing and changing greatly in this new millennium. Our most popular items
for check-out are no longer videos and cassettes; now it’s
DVDs and CDs. Gradually I’m replacing
the older styles. One thing I’m particularly thankful is the young people
who continue to sign library cards and the growth evident from the way they
write their names. From wobbly printing five years ago they’ve gone to
lovely, individualized cursive. And they’re still using the PCC library!
During this fall season, check out a good book and read it during
commercials of sports games. Or put on a CD from the library to listen to
while you prepare or clean up from your turkey dinner. Happy Thanksgiving to
everyone!. —Suzanne Flake, Church Librarian
