Poquonock Community Church, Congregational

Scripture of the Month: “And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”  Acts 2:42-47

MISSION

Jesus said, “Go, and make disciples of all nations.”   Our mission is to fulfill that command.  The irreducible core of the Gospel has to be: to Love God, love others, and make disciples. Our goal is to be a positive, supportive, encouraging family in Christ, that he might use us to draw people to himself.

SPIRITUAL LIFE

Poquonock Community Church is committed to doing God's will by teaching and encouraging people of all ages to worship God and to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. We are further committed to pray for and to reach out to each other and to those beyond our church with the love and acceptance that Christ has shown us.

FAMILY MINISTRY

There is a commitment among us to care for families, to see them grow stronger, and come to know Christ as Lord. This commitment pervades our worship, church school, youth group, music program, and the many activities that bring children and adults together. As a ministry to families in the wider community we provide a weekday nursery school.

OUR HERITAGE

Poquonock Congregational Church began worshiping God and serving the people of this area in 1841.  In 1924 we added "Community" to our name to show our desire to reach out to all the people around us. After our historic meetinghouse was destroyed by a tornado in 1979, we built a new sanctuary and fellowship hall.  Now, after over 150 years as a people together in Christ, PCC is a family proclaiming the gospel to Windsor, Hartford County, and beyond!
